Leadership

Carl is a former University of Idaho extension agent and Idaho County weed supervisor. He managed the Idaho County 4-H program for 27 years, creating one of the strongest 4-H programs in the state. Carl served as president of the Idaho Cattle Association, the Idaho Beef Council and the National Cattleman’s Beef Board, chairing two national committees. In the Idaho Legislature, Carl currently serves on the Senate Education and Finance committees.

“These work experiences taught me a lot about how government works, doesn’t work, and how to know the difference,” Carl says. “I know how to accomplish things within government, but to also figure out the difference between what is said and what is done.”
